Concussion Protocol
The Concussion Management Awareness Act provides rules and regulations for the treatment and monitoring of students with mild traumatic brain injuries. The law requires each school coach, physical education teacher, nurse, and athletic trainer to complete on approved course on concussion management every other year.
Return to participation protocol
Queensbury’s athletic trainer, Robert Jones, will evaluate all athletes for concussions or other injuries. Services provided by the athletic trainer includes primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.
