About Us
Queensbury Union Free School District sits in the shadows of the Adirondacks, but it ranks among the top school districts in the Capital Region for academics and fiscal efficiency. About 3,000 students in grades UPK-12 attend school on a single campus.
The district mission is to empower all students to be lifelong learners, inspired to pursue their dreams and contribute to the global community. School board members, administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and parents all work together to fulfill this mission in tangible, measurable ways.

Partnering with the community
Community partnerships have helped turn this district into the heart of the town of Queensbury. It is a place where residents of all ages and backgrounds come to enjoy first-class facilities, competition-level playing fields, and exciting student productions. Nearly 60 organizations, including the Town of Queensbury Parks & Recreation Department, hold numerous programs and activities on school grounds each year.
Reaching out locally, globally
Each year, students and staff members participate in numerous service projects, fundraisers and job-shadowing experiences. They also serve as international ambassadors through foreign-exchange programs, visits with foreign diplomats, musical performances in Europe and a partnership with sister-city Saga City, Japan.
An ideal place to live and pursue your dreams
Queensbury is nestled in a region rich with cultural opportunities, indoor and outdoor recreational activities, historic landmarks, and scenic landscapes. Living in the foothills of the Adirondacks, residents enjoy skiing, sledding, hiking, biking, rock climbing, golfing, and more. Also nearby, Lake George and the Hudson River offer exciting water sports and great fishing.
Queensbury is home to outlet malls, antique shops, restaurants, the Adirondack Balloon Festival, and the Great Escape Six Flags theme park. It borders the City of Glens Falls, which offers art, history and children’s museums as well as a civic center that hosts a professional hockey team, concerts, high school sports competitions and more.
