Students at Queensbury Elementary School kicked off their swim unit in January by raising money for the school’s Adopt-A-Family program. Students brought in coins, which they placed in large water bottles to vote for which staff member they wanted to see do a cannonball into the deep end of the elementary school pool.
Coach Dave Huth and coach Patrick Conway won the honor of competing for the biggest splash. Joined by Assistant Principal Jennifer O’Leary, they took turns jumping into the QES pool, and the event was broadcast around the school during the morning announcements on Feb. 2.
The cannonball contest raised $601.11 for the Adopt-A-Family program, which helps support families in need.
