Twenty-four students from Queensbury Middle School and Queensbury High School participated in the Saratoga-Warren County Music Educators Association All-County Band Festival held Feb. 1-3 at Galway High School.
Students were selected based on their musical merits. They rehearsed under the direction of notable guest conductors, then performed with other high-level student-musicians from surrounding school districts in Saratoga and Warren counties. SWCMEA was formed in order to enrich musical experiences for area music students.
“I’m so proud of these students for striving to become better musicians by being a part of these ensembles,” said K-12 Music Department Chairperson Gregory Verheyn. “Experiences like this make these students well-rounded musicians, and the entire band program is elevated because of these student-musician leaders.”
