Queensbury Elementary School teacher Kathy Edwards has been named the Teacher of the Week by TCT Federal Credit Union and Adirondack Broadcasting.

TCT and Adirondack Broadcasting honors local school employees who make a positive impact on their students and school communities. Each week during the school year, one recipient is selected and announced on air.

Edwards was nominated because she makes learning fun and engaging and provides her students with many real-life, hands-on experiences. She took her third grade class to SUNY Plattsburgh on April 8 to view the solar eclipse in totality.

“She spent months planning this trip so her students could have this amazing opportunity,” according to the TCT website. “Mrs. Edwards also has a hydroponic garden in the classroom and an egg incubator so they can hatch chicks. Thanks to Mrs. Kathy Edwards at Queensbury Elementary School, they're learning with wide eyes and smiles!”
