Voters in Queensbury Union Free School District passed a $78,547,546 budget proposal for the 2024-25 school year on Tuesday, May 21 by a vote of 567 to 205. Under the approved budget, a 2% tax levy increase will maintain the UPK-12 education program for Queensbury students next year.
“I am very thankful for the community’s support, and I look forward to continuing to enhance the school district as well as continuing to offer an unbelievable education for our students,” said Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon.
Voters also elected the following candidates to fill two open seats on the Queensbury Board of Education:
Stacy L. Flaherty - 644 votes (
Term through June 30, 2029)
Timothy J. Weaver - 623 votes (
Term through June 30, 2029)
Residents also voted to establish a $3 million capital reserve by a vote of 598 to 172. The capital reserve will be used to fund future construction needs at the William H. Barton Intermediate School and the Queensbury Middle School.
