Renee Beaulieu will offer a virtual workshop to discuss “Strengthening Early Literacy Skills at Home” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29.
During this webinar, the presenter will introduce various strategies to engage children in developing vocabulary, background knowledge and verbal reasoning to enhance their reading skills. Beaulieu will discuss the skills that are foundational to the science of reading and how to use these comprehension skills to reinforce a child's learning. The webinar will look at several ways to engage children during outings, while engaging in daily activities, and creating word games to play throughout the day.
“This is a great opportunity to explore more ways to engage our children in learning at home,” said Michael Brannigan, director of Social and Emotional Learning and School Development at Queensbury Union Free School District. “Being creative, fun, and intentional can help boost learning and help contribute to a solid foundation for our young students.”
