The third Parents as Partners webinar will address vaping, which has become one of the newest trends among tweens, teens and young adults.
Kids as young as 8 or 9 are bombarded daily with messages about vaping on social media, gaming sites and videos. The messaging makes vaping appear appealing and safe.
Patty Kilgore from the Prevention Council of Saratoga County will offer a virtual workshop titled, “Vaping: Why Should I Be Concerned?” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13.
During the webinar, parents will learn the truth about what is in a nicotine vape as well as other vaped substances and the impact on a youth’s brain, body and development.
“The health and safety of our students is top priority,” said Michael Brannigan, director of Social and Emotional Learning and School Development at Queensbury Union Free School District. “They are constantly exposed to potentially dangerous substances. This session will help us all learn about the dangers of vaping.”
