Around 450 grandparents visited the William H. Barton Intermediate School on Wednesday for the 36th annual Grandparents Breakfast with grade 4. The special guests enjoyed muffins, coffee and juice as fifth and fourth graders entertained them with orchestra, band and choral performances.

Grandparents traveled from as far away as North Carolina and Germany to have breakfast with the fourth grade students.

WHBI Principal Gwynne Cosh spoke about memories of growing up with her grandfather, who cherished what he called “red letter days,” memorable times with his family.

“Really think about the red letter days that you have had with your family members,” Cosh told the students, “and make sure you thank them for those red letter days and carry them with you through this holiday season.”
