More than 500 grandparents visited their third grade grandchildren at both Queensbury Elementary School and the William H. Barton Intermediate School on Friday, Dec. 6 for the 36th annual Grandparents Breakfast.
Due to the capital project renovations at the elementary school, six of the third grade classes were relocated to the intermediate school building this school year. Those students participated in a 7 a.m. breakfast at WHBI Friday, while the students in the other four classrooms met their grandparents at 8 a.m. at QES.
Elementary Principal Jessica Rossetti spoke about her memories of putting together puzzles with her grandparents and the conversations they would have while they were piecing the puzzle together.
“I think about that this time of year,” Rossetti said, “because I remember that it’s not those big holidays, those big moments in life that we remember as adults with our grandparents. It’s those small moments and those little things that we do together that really stick with us.”
