Queensbury High School students visited the New York State Police Academy on Monday, Dec. 16, where they learned about the rigorous training and diverse career paths available in law enforcement.
During the field trip, academy staff explained the Trooper training process, highlighting the commitment and discipline required to succeed in this profession, which is academically, physically and mentally demanding.
Students were introduced to a variety of specialized units, including drone intelligence, aviation, criminal investigations and more. These presentations showcased the dynamic and multifaceted nature of careers with the State Police.
“The purpose of this field trip was to provide students with a tangible understanding of law enforcement careers,” said QHS business teacher Kelly Montanye. “Witnessing the rigorous training and learning about specialized units opened their eyes to the commitment required and the diverse opportunities within the New York State Police.”
