Queensbury Union Free School District is accepting nominations for the 2025 class of the QUFSD Athletics Hall of Fame.
The Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes and honors athletes, coaches, teams, administrators, staff and community members who have made significant contributions to the district’s athletics program.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, Oct. 18, at The Queensbury Hotel. A cocktail social will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner. The ceremony will commence at 7 p.m.
To be considered for the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025, student-athletes must have graduated from Queensbury in 2000 or earlier. Only teams that won a New York State championship prior to 2000 — or advanced to the highest possible postseason competition level prior to state championships — will be eligible for consideration.
For all other categories, which include coaches, administrators, staff members and community contributors, the selection committee will examine nominees whose exceptional service, achievements and accomplishments were an integral part of QUFSD athletics during the 20th century.
“This will be our third Hall of Fame ceremony,” said Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon. “It’s so exciting just being in the presence of some of Queensbury’s most decorated athletes and legendary coaches and contributors and listening to them talk about their time at Queensbury.”
The Athletics Hall of Fame committee will be accepting nominations through April 1, 2025. Inductees will be notified in May.
“This has very quickly become my favorite event of the year,” said Richard Keys, the director of Health, PE and Athletics at Queensbury Union Free School District. “Queensbury athletics has such a storied history.”
