Two Queensbury Vex IQ Robotics teams have qualified for the state tournament.
Teams from the William H. Barton Intermediate School and from Queensbury Middle School won team awards during the Queensbury Schools Rapid Relay Tournament held Saturday, Jan. 18 at QMS. Eight Queensbury teams competed against teams from Albany, Glens Falls, Saratoga, Lake George, Hudson Falls and Lasalle.
Fiona Wood, Leah MacAlpine, Paige Seymour, Gianna Booth and Ryan Brown (Team F - Escaped from the Circus) won the Think Award, which recognizes the most effective and consistent use of coding techniques and programming design solutions to solve the game challenge.
Owen Wade, Austin Copeland, Aidan Wall and Mason Bartone (Team B - Technical Difficulties) won the Skills and Excellence Award.
The two teams will compete at the 12th annual Northern New York State IQ Championships at The Oncenter in Syracuse on March 5.
