Queensbury Union Free School District is mourning after the unexpected passing of long-time Queensbury Middle School counselor Michelle Sullivan, who had recently retired after working 25 years for the Queensbury UFSD.

“The Queensbury school community is devastated by this loss,” said Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon. “Michelle was a pillar of the school community and a compassionate and dedicated advocate for her students. Our thoughts are with Michelle’s family and the Queensbury community at this time.”

In difficult times like these, the district’s crisis teams assemble to support students, faculty and staff. School counselors, psychologists and social workers will be on hand on Monday, April 21 and going forward to provide assistance to anyone in need.

“Michelle had the conviction and willingness to do exactly what was needed for students to be successful,” said QMS Principal Nick McPartland. “With Michelle’s involvement with the Snack Pack Program and the Global Community Advisors, her impact will live on for a very long time. She’ll be missed by all at the middle school.”
