Due to the weather forecast calling for significant snow on Saturday morning, the Queensbury High School Captain’s Club and National Honor Society Drive-Thru Food Drive has been rescheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 25 at the same location, the administration building behind Queensbury Elementary School. No one will need to leave their cars in order to donate.
Also, food collection tables will be set up at both the boys and girls lacrosse scrimmages on Tuesday, March 26. If people can't make either of those drop-off times, donations can be left at any of the four buildings on Queensbury school campus anytime next week.
Through the Snack Pack Program, nearly 250 Queensbury students take bags of food home every week containing items to sustain them over the weekend. The program is completely funded by donations and administered by parent volunteers, who pack bags weekly.
The program is in need of items to help feed Queensbury families every weekend and over school breaks, like the upcoming spring recess.
The Snack Pack program welcomes any donations, but is specifically in need of: oatmeal packets, Chewy granola bars, mac & cheese cups, mac & cheese boxes, Nutri Grain Bars, individually wrapped snacks, ramen noodles, tuna fish, and peanut butter & jelly in plastic containers. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Checks can be made out to QUFSD (write in memo: Snack Pack).
Orders can also be placed from the Snack Pack Program’s Amazon Wish List. Items will ship directly to campus.
