Queensbury Union Free School District was made aware after school Monday, Sept. 23, of a second Snapchat threat made during an online conversation between two students who do not attend Queensbury schools.

Law enforcement responded immediately, and after an active investigation throughout the evening, police made an arrest late Monday night.

Queensbury school officials immediately notified local law enforcement of the second threat, which referenced the Snapchat threat that resulted in the arrest of a Clifton Park teen.

We ask parents to take some time to talk with their children about this issue and remind them of the importance of their words and actions. Encourage them to think carefully before they speak or post online. People who threaten schools with violence — even noncredible threats of violence — can face serious repercussions and criminal charges.

We thank the Glens Falls Police Department, the New York State Police, the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI for their continued partnership. The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We commend the student who brought this to the attention of school administration. As always, if you see something, say something.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your building administrator.
