Thirteen Queensbury High School students were honored Wednesday morning at the Student of the Quarter breakfast for the third quarter of the 2023-24 school year.
QHS Principal Andrew Snide told the students and parents gathered that the students were being honored not just for their grades, but for their character inside and outside of the classroom.
“This is probably one of our favorite award ceremonies,” Snide said, “because it really picks out students who are really doing the right thing.”
Each department selects one student out of the entire school to honor. During the ceremony, teachers speak about the honored student, who is then presented with a plaque.
Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon called the students the “cream of the crop.”
“Your teachers have selected you because of how you are every day,” Gannon said. “You represent what we want at Queensbury.”
