The Queensbury High School baseball team has been awarded the 2023-24 Team Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Association. This is the third year in a row that Queensbury baseball has been given the Excellence Award.
The Team Academic Excellence Award goes to baseball teams that posted a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the cumulative 2023-24 academic year. QHS is one of nearly 350 high school programs and more than 470 collegiate programs recognized with this year’s award, which is presented by Sports Attack.
Coaches were able to nominate their teams for the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award following the conclusion of their spring semesters. The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes.
QHS varsity baseball coach Jason Gutheil said the award is a testament to the exceptional character and dedication of the baseball team.
“This achievement highlights not only our commitment to academic rigor, but also the remarkable quality of our student-athletes at Queensbury High School,” Gutheil said. “I am extremely proud of the hard work and positive impact these young men bring both on and off the field.”
