Every Queensbury High School senior just received their first college acceptance letter.

Those acceptance letters came from SUNY Adirondack on Thursday, Sept. 26 during a Direct Admission Celebration for the entire QHS Class of 2025.

“We believe each of you can be successful, and we would love to have you join our student body,” SUNY Adirondack President Dr. Kris Duffy told the seniors at Queensbury High School. “And although you will always be a Spartan, today you are all Timberwolves, and your great future starts with us, so congratulations!”

About 50 Queensbury High School seniors commit to SUNY Adirondack every year, said Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon.

“SUNY Adirondack already provides a fantastic pathway for our students to take courses, earning college credits while they’re still in high school and giving them a head start on their college studies,” Gannon said. “This not only saves time, but also reduces the financial burden of higher education.”

The QHS seniors took home their acceptance letters, college major information, a pennant, stickers, and an invitation to the Oct. 26 SUNY Adirondack Open House. College mascot Eddy Rondack was on hand to toss T-shirts to the enthusiastic crowd.

SUNY Adirondack offers more than 40 degree and certificate programs and awards more than $400,000 in scholarships every year to students, said Jenny Postlethwaite, SUNY Adirondack’s director of College Access & Student Success.

“At SUNY Adirondack,” Postlethwait said, “you’ll find a supportive community, incredible opportunities, and all the tools you’ll need to achieve your dreams.”

Acceptance to SUNY Adirondack also allows the seniors to be automatically accepted to SUNY Plattsburgh, the University at Albany and SUNY Cobleskill.
