Seeing Blue, Queensbury High School’s art and literary magazine, has received the rank of “Excellent” in the 2024 NCTE Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines program. This is the second consecutive year the magazine has received this honor from the National Council of Teachers of English.

This year, schools in 46 states and five countries nominated 422 student magazines from middle school, high school and higher education.

“We are really proud of all of the featured writers and artists whose work has been recognized at the state level,” said faculty editor Kerri Bundy. “And we are equally proud of our staff members, who have curated the work and created this beautiful magazine. We are hard at work for the 2025 edition, which will be released in May!”

REALM is designed to encourage all schools to develop literary magazines that celebrate the art and craft of writing. Schools in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, Canada and American schools abroad are eligible to nominate magazines.

Seniors Grace Denious and Rider Lee served as student editors in chief. Other staff members included Mia Afsar-Keshmiri, Brooke Anderson, Emily Kenny, Tessa Murray and Caitlin Scott.

The National Council of Teachers of English is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education. It is the nation’s oldest organization of preschool through graduate school literacy educators.
