More than 50 Queensbury orchestra students from grades 6-12 participated in the Saratoga-Warren County Music Educators Association All-County Orchestra and Jazz Festival at Queensbury High School from Jan. 31 through Feb. 1.
“This achievement reflects the dedication, passion and hard work of our students,” said Gregory Verheyn, the K-12 Music Department chair. “It not only showcases their commitment to musical excellence but also highlights the strength and growth of Queensbury’s music program. Their efforts continue to support and enhance our program’s success.”
Students had the opportunity to rehearse under the guidance of esteemed guest conductors and perform alongside other top student musicians from school districts across Saratoga and Warren Counties.
This All-County Festival was hosted and organized by Gregory Verheyn at Queensbury.
“We are proud of our music facilities at QHS and love hosting these events,” said Verheyn, who organized the festival. Queensbury music teachers Tiffany Hotte and Alyssa Verheyn assisted as well by being ensemble chairs.
Alyssa Verheyn co-conducted the 6/7 Orchestra. The QHS Tri-M Music Honor Society worked both on the front lines and behind the scenes to ensure a smooth festival. Parents also volunteered to help.
