Queensbury Union Free School District will be open on Monday, April 8, the date of the solar eclipse. In our area, the partial solar eclipse will begin around 2:12 p.m. and will end at approximately 4:37 p.m., depending on weather conditions.

The district has purchased solar eclipse glasses for each student and staff member.

Buildings will be dismissed at their normal times. Buses will be fully lined up before students are dismissed. There will be extra adults to supervise dismissal to ensure students board the buses safely.

All after-school activities will be conducted inside until 4:45 p.m. that day.

Building principals will spend several days sharing safety tips on morning announcements and reviewing bus loading plans at the three buildings that will be in session when the partial eclipse happens.
