The Queensbury Union Free School District’s Q-munity Bus will make one last stop this summer. The blue repurposed STEM bus will be parked at Hovey Pond Park from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12.

Queensbury school administrators have been grilling up hot dogs and hamburgers and serving chips, water and ice pops as students eat a free lunch, play games, win prizes, take home free books, and play with the innovative technology on the Q-munity Bus.

“We’ve had tremendous turnout at all of our Q-munity Bus events this summer,” said Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon. “Our administrators have really enjoyed connecting with our students through free lunch, free books and many games of cornhole.”

The repurposed school bus is equipped with state-of-the-art furnishings, white boards with dry erase markers, OSMO tablets, and hands-on materials for number and math learning. The bus also has Wi-Fi, a TV with an HDMI cable, a Chromebook, a microphone and surround sound system, Ozobots, Spheros, screenless coding activities called Indie Cars, giant Jenga, and arts and crafts.
